Can I change or cancel my advance directives?

Yes, this is possible. However, it is not appropriate to modify or cancel your directives during a crisis or during hospitalization, except in special cases. Instead, drafting and modifying them occurs during periods when your wishes can be clearly expressed.

How do I make the hospital aware of the advance directives I have prepared?

You can send them directly to your local hospital, especially if you have already been treated there. You can also send this document to a loved one or your trusted person (see box on the left) so that they can express your wishes in the event of hospitalization.
